Xishan Electric Vehicle International Trade Association (XEVITA) establishment ceremony in Wuxi

On September 28, 2022, the inaugural meeting of the Xishan Electric Vehicle International Trade Association (XEVITA) was successfully held in Wuxi. As a key step for Xishan to integrate into China’s “dual-circulation” development and capture new opportunities brought by RCEP, the establishment of XEVITA will help local companies accelerate overseas market expansion and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of the region’s open economy. Representatives from national and municipal commerce authorities sent congratulations and remarks, including a video address by Guo Kuilong, Secretary-General of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products; Jiang Bo, Deputy Director of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce; Lu Xiaobo, Deputy Head of Xishan District; and Shi Xilian, Vice Chairman of the District CPPCC and Chairman of the District Federation of Industry and Commerce.

Xishan Electric Vehicle International Trade Association (XEVITA) is officially established in Wuxi, supporting exports of electric scooters and three-wheelers.

At the meeting, XEVITA signed a strategic framework agreement with the Wuxi Office of China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation and the Wuxi Intellectual Property Association. This is an important measure to help member enterprises secure orders, access financing tools, protect IP, and expand overseas in a steady and compliant way.

The electric scooters and three-wheelers industry is one of the “four new and four strong” industrial clusters that Xishan is building and is expected to become the district’s first landmark cluster with revenue exceeding RMB 100 billion. Annual output of complete vehicles exceeds 14 million units, accounting for more than one-third of China’s total; six of the nation’s top ten enterprises are based in Xishan. The district hosts 15 provincial/municipal engineering and technology research centers, 12 enterprise technology centers, as well as national testing services for light electric vehicles and batteries. Xishan has been approved as a national foreign-trade transformation and upgrading base and a provincial industrial design service trade base.

Last year, the sector counted 146 exporting enterprises with exports of USD 408 million (+44.4% YoY). In the first half of this year, growth continued, with exports reaching USD 224 million (+28.6% YoY).

On behalf of the Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Jiang Bo extended congratulations to the establishment of the association. He noted that enterprises in Xishan should focus on doing exports well, share resources, pursue win-win cooperation, and develop together, so as to promote the vigorous development of the city’s electric vehicle industry. He encouraged the association to give full play to its role as a link and bridge between government and enterprises, strengthen research, reflect member needs in a timely manner, provide efficient and high-quality services, innovate service concepts, broaden service areas, and establish an effective information network.

Lu Xiaobo stated that in recent years, Xishan has actively integrated into the Belt and Road, implemented RCEP with high standards, and supported local electric-vehicle companies to accelerate their “going-global” pace through cross-border channels. The district government will remain a strong backing for enterprise development, will introduce targeted foreign-trade support policies for electric vehicles, strengthen and optimize the cross-border e-commerce park, and help enterprises grow stronger in the global market.

In the next stage, the association will focus on the theme of “cohesion • carbon neutrality • going global,” continuously improving export quality, enhancing international competitiveness, accelerating international market penetration, and contributing to the construction of a high-quality development benchmark in Xishan District.

Work with the Xishan Electric Vehicle International Trade Association (XEVITA)

To move from information to action, start with a shortlist and a site visit plan. If you already know your use case—commuter routes, delivery fleets, or passenger service—browse Members to identify 2–3 factories that match your target spec. Then review Products by category to compare batteries, braking systems, and after-sales kits. If you need an overview of the association and services, see About Us, and when you are ready to schedule a Wuxi (Xishan) factory tour or request spec sheets, contact the trade team via Contact. For models that require EU registration, align early on EEC (L1e-B / L3e) documentation and testing notes; a useful reference is the UNECE vehicle-regulation portal (https://unece.org/transport/vehicle-regulations). XEVITA’s role is to keep this process practical—clear specs, predictable schedules, and responsive support—so buyers, distributors, and manufacturers can scale faster with fewer uncertainties. By coordinating policy information, export tools, and on-site validation, the Xishan Electric Vehicle International Trade Association helps turn interest into reliable shipments of electric scooters and three-wheelers.
